    This large, gracious house had been hampered by an excessively “cut up” interior with many small rooms. When a fire necessitated a full renovation, an opportunity arose to reconfigure the space into a more pleasing and functional arrangement.

    Concealed doors were added to the paneling on either side of the fireplace. The air on the left conceals the owners’ audio/visual equipment; the pair on the right a doorway into the kitchen, unifying the two spaces at will.
